Micropenis is a medical term that is referred to a penis that is unusually small in size. Generally the stretched flaccid length of a micropenis is less than 4 centimeters for an adult male. This is not the only definition for a micropenis and other definitions are also used by some doctors.

The condition can be diagnosed shortly after birth when the rest of the penis, scrotum, and perineum are fully formed. About 0.6% of the male population is born with this condition.

The inability of the fetus to synthesize the hormones testosterone and dihydrotestosterone is also a potential cause for a micropenis, as well as the congenital deficiency of the growth hormone or the inadequate stimulation of the pituitary gland.
